秋ウンカ

正確には

トビイロウンカという名前らしい。

今年は１０月の気温が異常に高いせいか

いまだに大活躍している。

このウンカに血を吸われた稲は

しょぼくれて枯れる。

その枯れた稲を見てみると

藁がカビが生えたような色に変わっている。

うちでも今年から借りた田んぼの一隅に

直径２ｍくらいの坪枯れが生じた。

坪枯れとは

田んぼが円形脱毛症のようになった状態を指す。

いったんこうなるとその円形脱毛症的面積が

どんどん広がっていき

なんだか砂漠に生えた草みたいな容体に陥っていく。

手立てというほどの特効薬は農薬以外ないが

うちは農薬使わんので

とにかく例年より水を落とす時期をずいぶん遅らせた。

というのが、よその田んぼを観察していると

稲刈りに合わせて早くから水を切っている田のほうが

円形脱毛症の広がりが加速している印象。

近隣農家との水の競合がなければ

ある程度水を張っていたほうが被害が抑えられる

ような気がした。科学的データなし。ただの勘っす。

毎年予定通りにすべしという法則は

こと農業に関してあてまらない。現状を見極めて

臨機応変に判断するにつきる。

この田はかろうじてイノシシ被害をまぬがれた。

きれいな田んぼは刈ったり干したりが楽しい。
